My life, my story, my favourite things
Hey, I’m Olga
Ambivert, traveller, restaurant explorer, wine drinker, cheese nibbler.
I’m originally from Latvia, but the UK’s been my home for almost two decades now.
It’s also where I met my husband Deniss. It’s so funny, we both moved here from Latvia, and then met each other in the UK! I guess what’s meant to be will always find a way.
We have two very spoiled boss-cats, Baxter and Mikki. Oh, and we recently adopted a stray (I say ‘adopted’, he basically just wandered in one day and started eating!)
I’m absolutely obsessed with true crime- the darker, the better! Either that, or vegging out over MAFS, or rewatching Dirty Dancing for the millionth time.
I LOVE food. Cheese- lots of cheese! I’m always up for trying new cuisines and new restaurants. If you’ve got a great spot in mind, send it my way! I love baking as well, but there are only so many cakes one family can eat!
I go Drum & Bass boxing, walking, hiking, swimming…basically anything to burn off all that wine and cheese! And travel? Yes please! Hiking in the Lakes, exploring Switzerland, Porto on a random Tuesday…wherever it is, count me in! I’ve always taken photos when travelling. Not just the landmarks, but the things most people might miss; little details, and quiet moments. Looking beneath the surface of a place, and capturing how it feels.
So how did I become a wedding photographer?
Our story begins when I was really young.
A little Latvian girl, curled up with an old photo album on her grandparents’ floor…
Studying faces, and listening to stories. Remembering people, seeing them smile, feeling them with me again.
So it’s always been a part of me, photography. But it was never something I considered as a career, you know? Jobs were to be endured, not loved.
But then everything changed when I was diagnosed with cancer (don’t worry, I’m fine now, but it’s important to the story!)
I was forced to stop, and reflect. To ask myself what I really wanted from life- what would give it all meaning if it ended tomorrow. And the answer was clear…
I wanted to tell stories. Real ones- filled with connection, and memories, and moments that matter.
I wanted to be with people on the most important day of their lives. And give them an album that maybe one day, a little girl would curl up with on her grandparents’ floor.
We love you! Tell us how you work
